5. Professor Riskuwa A. Shehu – Sokoto (New Appointment)
6. Barr. Kasim Gana Geidam – Yobe (Reappointment)
7. Jibrin Ibrahim Zarewa – Kano (Reappointment)
8. Abdulganiyu Olayinka Raji- Oyo (New Appointment)
9. Professor Samuel G. Egwu – Kogi (New Appointment)
10. Barrister Mike A. Igini – Delta (Reappointment)
11. Professor Mustapha Zubairu – Niger (New Appointment)
12. Ahmad Bello Mahmud – Zamfara (New Appointment)
Dr. Mahmuda Isah – Kebbi (New Appointment) was stepped down for further consultation.
Professor Mustapha Zubairu – Niger (New Appointment) was rejected because he is from the same Local Government and Senatorial district with the National Commissioner.
Ahmad Bello Mahmud – Zamfara (New Appointment) was stepped down for further consultation.
Amb. (Dr.) Rufus Oloruntoyin Akeju- Lagos (Reappointment) was stepped down for further consultation due to a court ruling.

Senate dissolved into the committee of the whole for clause by clause consideration of Nominees for Appointment as Resident Electoral Commissioners
Senate reverted back to Plenary and reported progress.

The 8 Nominees were appointed as Resident Electoral Commissioners.
Senate President Bukola Saraki congratulated the newly appointed.
He stated the conduct of free and fair election should be paramount and said the new electoral commissioners will display the highest level of discipline and patriotism.
