A corps member has gone viral after claiming she received N1 million from Nigeria’s Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio.

Identified as @priceless_racheal, the young woman shared a video showing bundles of cash while dressed in her NYSC uniform, Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) reports.

She claimed the money was a personal gift from the Senate President during a chance encounter.

In the video, she wrote, “Nothing to my shoulder. I just saw the Senate President and he gave us 1 million naira.”

The video spread rapidly online, attracting mixed reactions from Nigerians across various social media platforms.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) confirmed that the video was shared via her personal social media account.

Some Nigerians praised the Senate President’s generosity and saw it as an act of support for the youth.

Others criticized the gesture, calling it a political move ahead of the 2027 general elections.

One user, @iamramsyyoung, wrote, “Take 1m now, be happy and cry your eyes out throughout the next 4 years.”

Another, @__okikiolah, said, “Akpabio just successfully bought her 2027 vote,” implying a deeper political motive behind the gift.

@dinma_unfiltered added, “No be everything you go post oo,” warning the corps member against oversharing sensitive content.

Supporters, however, defended the action, calling it a heartwarming act of kindness from the Senate President.

@think_am_o commented, “Akpabio na number one. He dey show love for Africa.”

@nnalinks recalled, “I experienced this same kindness during my NYSC in 2014/2015. He was so caring as a governor.”

They praised him for making their service year in Akwa Ibom enjoyable and memorable.

Not everyone was impressed by the corps member’s decision to post the cash publicly.

The situation has sparked a wider conversation about youth, politics, and ethics in public office.

Many questioned whether such acts are genuine or strategic political investments disguised as goodwill.
