Senate President Saraki’s trial to resume on June 7 - CCT

The Code of Conduct Tribunal on Thursday disclosed that the trial of the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, on charges of false and anticipatory asset declaration is to resume on June 7.

The Head, Press and Public Relations, Ibraheem Al-hassan, in a statement on Thursday, confirmed that.

He said the tribunal had granted Jacobs’ request by fixing June 7 for the trial to resume and to continue on June 8 and 9.

Al-hassan said this confirmed that the reports in some sections of the media that the trial had been adjourned indefinitely was false.

“This got to show that the initial impression that the tribunal had adjourned indefinitely was false, as publicised yesterday (Wednesday) by some media organisations,” Al-hassan said.

It could be recalled that Saraki trial at CCT was stalled on Wednesday due to request by prosecuting counsel, Rotimi Jacobs for postponement.
