Senate will fight anti-people policies – Saraki

SarakiSenate President, Senator Bukola Saraki has assured Nigerians that regardless of whose ox is gored, the current senate would not overlook any anti-masses decisions.

Saraki on his twitter handle on Friday who commended National Electrical Regulatory Commission ‎ (NERC) for responding to the 8th Senate on power supply to Nigerians insisted that

Lawmakers would not allow anti-people policies to go unchecked.

Senate had on last week debated motion on Power and in its resolutions, the Red Chamber urged NERC to stop fix charges on Power in the country.

‎Saraki twitted, “motion on power should be a signal to other regulatory bodies that the 8th Senate will not allow anti-people policies to go unchecked

“The 8th Senate will continue to represent the best interest of Nigerians, regardless of whose ox is gored power.

“The 8th Senate will open a direct channel with Nigerians. Everyone must take advantage by contacting their Senators for oversight of agencies.

“If there are similar cases like that of power kindly engage your Senators by bringing it to our attention so we can better represent you 

“I made a promise that 8th Senate will be a different Senate. This will be your Senate with your support & prayers we will not be distracted!

“Although the 8th Senate has had some distractions, we have hit the ground running. When we return Nigerians can expect more oversight action.”
