Nigerian Senate Minority Leader, Abba Moro, is mourning a devastating double tragedy following the deaths of his son and grandson within 48 hours.

Reports confirm that Moro’s son, Victor, died in a fatal car crash just two days after the family lost the senator’s 10-year-old grandson, Aba Moro Junior.

The heartbreaking incidents have drawn widespread sympathy from political figures and Nigerians across the country.

According to reports, Victor had recently returned from Turkey, where he completed his university studies. He had planned to begin his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program before tragedy struck.

The loss has shaken the senator’s Benue South constituency, also known as Zone C, where he has long served as a respected leader.

Former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom expressed deep sorrow over the incident.

In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Terver Akase, Ortom described the deaths as “a tragedy that goes beyond one family.”

He added that the pain was shared by friends, associates, and all who know Moro as a dedicated public servant.

The former governor prayed for strength for the senator and his family to bear what he called an “irreplaceable loss.”

Saraki, in a message shared on X (formerly Twitter), extended condolences from himself and his wife, Toyin Saraki, to the Moro family.

He prayed that God would comfort and strengthen the senator and surround the grieving family with peace in their moment of pain.

Supporters and citizens have flooded social media with condolence messages. Many described the senator’s loss as unimaginable and prayed for divine comfort.

Moro, who represents Benue South Senatorial District under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has not yet made a public statement.

However, sources close to the family say he remains surrounded by friends, relatives, and political associates offering support.

The tragic loss has once again drawn attention to the dangers of road travel across Nigeria, as Victor’s death adds to the growing number of young lives lost in car accidents.

As the family grieves, condolences continue to pour in from both local and national figures.

Many Nigerians have called for prayers and solidarity with the senator during this painful time.
