Former Abia State Governor, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Chief Audu Ogbeh.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Kalu described Ogbeh as an accomplished statesman, seasoned administrator, and patriotic Nigerian whose contributions to national development will be remembered for generations.

He noted that during his lifetime, Ogbeh demonstrated exemplary leadership in public service and played a significant role in advancing Nigeria’s agricultural sector.

“Audu Ogbeh was a man of uncommon wisdom, humility, and integrity. His passion for the growth of our nation, especially in agriculture and rural development, was unmatched. Nigeria has lost a true patriot,” Kalu stated.

The former Abia State Governor extended his heartfelt condolences to the Ogbeh family, the government and people of Benue State, and all Nigerians mourning the elder statesman. He prayed for God to grant the deceased eternal rest and give the family the strength to bear the loss.

Chief Audu Ogbeh, who served as Minister of Agriculture from 2015 to 2019, was also a former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a respected voice in Nigeria’s political landscape.
