Senator Oduah receives pan-African leadership award

Former Aviation Minister and lawmaker representing Anambra North Senatorial district Senator Stella Oduah on Tuesday received Pan-African leadership Award and Medal from the African Students Union Parliament, ASUP.

The group led by its speaker Rt Hon. Ahmed Coulibaly from Universite de Cocodi Abidjan Cote’d Iviore and other members of the parliament described the lawmaker as an amazon of Nation building, Administrative icon and an outstanding public servant of impeccable credentials.

“We are aware of your immense effort right from the time you were the minister for Aviation who raised Nigeria Airports to international standard and your enormous effort to raise the level of the people of Anambra North since you became a lawmaker”.

“At this point that youths need to have exemplary leaders as role models and mentors in life, you have committed your time to service of the common good in accordance to PAN-African ideology and we have carefully selected you”.

In her remarks, Oduah appreciated and encouraged them ‎to continue with the good work of facilitating corporation and harmonious co-existence among member states and their encouragement of stake holders and public office holders for peace development and economic stability.

“You people have started on the right foot as young students by doing what is expected of many adult to fulfil your dream of building  a better society, where unity will suffice this is a step in the right direction may this vanguard you started never elude you”.

“Education is essential to everything because it is only through education that we can compete with the western world and make our continent better, we are Africans and no matter what we do we cannot be white, so we have to make Africa beautiful by elevating our education,” Oduah said.

‎ African Students union parliament is the umbrella body that covers all students within the 51 member countries in Africa with core objectives of encouraging corporation, peaceful co existence and attaining economic stability, by contributing their own quota to tackling challenges peculiar with countries Africa.

This is coming at the heels of Oduah’s election as president of Economic Community Of West African State, ECOWAS female parliamentarians.

ASUP however urged the lawmaker to take their plea to the ECOWAS parliament to ease the difficulty of travellers within countries in West Africa.
