Seun Kuti Disputes VeryDarkMan’s Claims Over Children’s Rescue, Sparks Online Debate

Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti has publicly challenged claims made by social media activist VeryDarkMan regarding his alleged role in prompting government action to rescue kidnapped children.

In a strongly worded statement that has since gained traction online, Kuti dismissed the activist’s assertions as untrue, insisting that the rescue operation was not influenced by recent protests.

“VeryDarkMan saying he’s the one that made the government rescue the children, that’s a lie,” Kuti said. He further argued that the protest organized by the activist was primarily aimed at securing a meeting with the state governor, rather than directly influencing rescue efforts.

According to Kuti, the governor in question was not responsible for the rescue operation, making it inaccurate to credit the outcome to the protest. He also questioned the idea that public demonstrations could compel swift government action within such a short period.

The singer’s remarks have sparked widespread reactions across social media platforms, with opinions divided between supporters of both figures. While some users agreed with Kuti’s stance, emphasizing that security operations often involve multiple agencies and long-term planning, others defended VeryDarkMan, arguing that public pressure can sometimes accelerate government response.

As discussions continue, neither party has indicated any intention to de-escalate the situation, leaving the public sphere buzzing with contrasting perspectives on the matter.
