The Management of Silverbird has entered into negotiations with the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) over its seized properties.
Guy Murray–Bruce, the Group Vice President of Silverbird Group disclosed this to newsmen.
He said this in reaction to the assets of three companies belonging to the group taken over by AMCON.
He described the whole situation as a business arrangement gone south, vowing that their properties would be restored.
AMCON had, on Thursday morning, sealed off the assets of three companies belonging to Senator Ben Murray Bruce who represents Bayelsa Senatorial district in the senate.
The companies affected by the takeover are Silverbird Galleria Limited, Silverbird Promotions Limited, and Silverbird Showtime Limited.
AMCON, by notice of appointment dated April 18, appointed Muiz Banire as Receiver/Manager over the sprawling assets of the three companies located at 133 Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos, Plot No 1161 (Silverbird Galleria); Central Area Cadastral Zone AOO, Abuja; and Abonnema Wharf Road and Abali Park in Port Harcourt City of Rivers State.
AMCON alleged that the assets were being seized following the failure of the company to settle an 11 billion Naira loan owed Union Bank and acquired by the corporation.
