Mr. Fatai Odunsi, alleged to be the father of Nigerian music superstar Asake, has cried out to Nigerians to assist him with funds after he suffered a partial stroke.

Mr Oduns is alleged to have abandoned the singer when he was barely two years old and never bothered to care for him.

He was said to be a musician in his younger days.

It is not known if he tried to re-establish contact with his son after he became a global star.

But while addressing Nigerians in the video, he said, “The last time I set my eyes on him was March 2022 when my sickness started. If I called Asake, he wouldn’t pick. Please help me, it is your help that I need”.

The video has sparked controversy, with many criticising Asake for allegedly abandoning his father despite his success in the music industry.

Meanwhile, Asake is yet to respond to his father’s public plea for help.
