Some people believed to be members of the Indigenous Peoples of Nigeria (IPOB), on Monday, stopped activities at the Comprehensive Secondary School, Nkume-Njaba in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State, the English Language West African Examination Council (WAEC) Examination was about to take place, chasing away students from the examination hall.
The development followed the sit-at-home order enforced by the group every Monday across the South East.
Some men reportedly stormed the school around 8.30 to disperse the students, staff and invigilators.
Not done with the assault, they set the examination papers and all the motorcycles parked in the premises on fire.
Residents of Imo State had, on Monday, went about their usual daily business activities with some businesses, fast-food centres, artisans, street/road side traders, super markets and mobile food vendors smoothly running their affairs.
Unlike the previous week, a reasonable percentage of buying and selling went on in virtually all the local government areas of the state, including Okada riders.
Same was noticed across the major towns and cities across the South East.
The state governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma had, penultimate week, ordered the sealing of some banks for failure to open for business owing to the sit-at-home order.
