Six soldiers injured as ISWAP attack troops in Borno

Members of the Islamic State of West Africa (ISWAP) have attacked army troops on patrol around Burimari village of Ngazai Local Government of Borno State, leaving six injured.

The incidence took place Wednesday morning following which saw the six soldiers taken to Forward Operation Base in Gajiran town for medical care.

Recently, armed bandits attacked a military base in in Zamfara State, killing some security personnel  and injuring others.

At least twelve personnel were confirmed dead during the attack.

Militants of Boko Haram and its off-shoot, Islamic State of West Africa Province [ISWAP] have continued to terrorise the North-east zone and Lake Chad region for over a decade.
