(DDM) – In a major counter-terrorism breakthrough, the Nigerian Army has confirmed the arrest of seven suspects allegedly transporting supplies, including weapons and critical equipment, to terrorist groups operating in Borno and Adamawa States.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathered that the arrests were carried out between July 15 and July 22, 2025, during a coordinated offensive by troops of Operation Hadin Kai.

According to a statement posted on the Nigerian Army’s official X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday, the operations involved a joint task force made up of soldiers, the Nigerian Air Force, local hunters, and the Civilian Joint Task Force.

The focus of the mission was to disrupt major supply routes and halt the delivery of essentials such as food, fuel, weapons, and communication equipment to insurgent groups in the northeast.

The army disclosed that the troops successfully intercepted several logistics channels and impounded a variety of materials used by the terrorists.

Among the items recovered were motorcycles, large caches of food, petroleum products, high-frequency radios, and bomb-making components.

Notably, one of the suspects was caught with a Starlink satellite internet device, while another was apprehended with a large quantity of hard drugs suspected to be used for combat endurance.

Raids were also conducted in several notorious hotspots across Borno State, including Gwoza, Kaga, Bama, Monguno, and Konduga.

In these operations, multiple terrorists were killed and several planned attacks were thwarted.

On July 22, troops intercepted a suspicious vehicle en route to Gamboru carrying high-tech equipment believed to be destined for terrorist enclaves.

The Army further revealed that in Bama, ten relatives of known insurgents voluntarily surrendered, signaling growing pressure on terror groups and their support networks.

The Chief of Army Staff lauded the courage and resilience of the troops involved and reaffirmed the military’s unwavering commitment to dismantling terrorism and restoring lasting peace in Nigeria’s northeast.

These actions, the military emphasized, are part of a broader strategy to sever all lifelines sustaining insurgency operations in the region.
