Soludo Slams “Fake” Clerics, Says They’re Same As Herbalists, May Arrest Them After Re-election

Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has reportedly threatened to arrest some clerics after he must have won the upcoming November 8, 2025, governorship election in the state, referring to them as “fake prophets and miracle merchants”.

According to sources, Governor Soludo made the remarks during an appraisal meeting with his election campaign team in Awka, the state capital.

A source said he vowed to deal with them, the same way he dealt with Okeite herbalists, threatening to close down their miracle centers.

The cource also said that Soludo called the bluff on certain church leaders, saying they did not make him governor.

He claimed that Anambra people and President Buhari did and will re-elect him again based on his achievements.

“I do not need church endorsements to win re-election,” he declared.

He disclosed his plans to take on the hierarchy of the Church, especially the Catholic Church immediately after the election.

The governor expressed complete confidence in a clean sweep of the stakes at the polls.

He said that Catholic priests, including Bishops, were no better than the Akwa Okuko and the Eke Heats of this world.

He, therefore, threatened that he has concluded arrangements on how to get rid of them, same way he did the notorious miracle money makers, including Onye-Eze Jesus, Akwa-okuko and Eke-Heat.

The governor reportedly lambasted some named clerics like Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obinma, popularly known as Ebube Muonso.

It was gathered that his anger was that they allowed other governorship candidates to speak in their churches.

Fear of backlash

An observer, Dr. Chika Ejidike reported that apparently afraid of likely backlash from such declaration, Soludo roared: ‘I don’t need the Church to win election.

”Afterall some of the Catholic Bishops with Father Ebube Muonso all supported Val Ozigbo in 2021, and I still won them clearly.

“So, I do not need or seek the support of the Roman Catholic Church or any other denomination but only the support of Ndi Anambra to win the November 8th guber election.”

According to him, “as some of the other party candidates are going from one Bishop and church denomination to the other seeking for endorsements and support, as if those Church leaders determine the outcome of the elections, I will defeat all of them.

“After I finish dealing with the fake Ndi Okeite Dibia deceiving our youths with fake promises and miracle money, soon after my reelection, I will face those fake Pastors, Reverend Fathers/Men Of God around the Uke, Nnobi and other parts of the state who use church, fake prophesies, and fake miracles to extort money from Ndi Anambra and deceive our youths.

“They are no different from those Okeite Dibias.

“Our state needs to be cleansed and sanitized from those false prophets and priests,” he had pronounced.

Soludo changes focus to grassroots

Soludo charged his campaign council to focus on the electorates in the grassroots.

He said he knows that the Bishops and the General Overseers are using them for extorting politicians.

He told them to campaign with his works across the state.

These, he said, are enough to speak for him and give him a well-deserved reelection.

It is time, he noted, that “Bishops and Church leaders are boldly told and made to leave politics for politicians and face their pulpits and job of saving souls for Christ.”

Reacting to the outburst, one of his top aides confided that he felt scandalized about Soludo’s statement.

He recollected how he was involved in mobilizing the church hierarchy in 2021 for Soludo’s election.

He, therefore, felt very bad for the way he has been treating the church hierarchy since mounting the saddle of leadership in the state.
