SON cautions consumers on dangers of counterfeit products as it raids fake shaving sticks in Kaduna

Nigerians have been warned of the dangers of using counterfeit shaving sticks as they are a means of throwing money down the drain as well as sources of skin related problems.

Kaduna State Coordinator, Danlami Datti in line with keeping to the mandate of ensuring that only quality products are sold to customers, the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) explained why they raided traders stocking counterfeit shaving sticks in Kaduna.

During the raid, several counterfeit shaving sticks of various brands were confiscated from the Kaduna Central Market.

At shop 9&10, Block 289, several counterfeit shaving sticks of several brands were confiscated.

Similarly, shops 1,2,3 on Block 86 were also found to be stocking several of the counterfeit products.

Datti after the raid, explained that such counterfeit products make consumers lose value for their money.

He said that SON cannot afford to sit back and allow such fraudulent manufacturers endanger the health of peopke while making quick money imitating popular brands.

The SON Kaduna State Coordinator to always ensure they purchase only products that have the SON logo.

“They should look out for SON logo if it is an imported product. For those made in Nigeria, there should be MANCAP no and our logo,” he said.
