Hull City winger Sorba Thomas has escaped without injury after being involved in a dramatic car accident near the club’s training ground in Cottingham on Friday morning.
The 27-year-old Wales international was involved in the road traffic accident close to Hull City’s training base, with images showing his vehicle overturned on a residential road. The pictures quickly circulated on social media, prompting concern among supporters who initially feared the worst.
However, Hull City moved swiftly to reassure fans that Thomas was safe and had not suffered any injuries.
The club confirmed that the player emerged from the incident completely unscathed, providing a major relief to his family, teammates, coaches and supporters.
“Hull City is relieved to confirm that Sorba Thomas is unharmed following a road traffic accident near to the club’s Cottingham training ground,” the club said in a statement.
“The club is aware of images of Sorba’s car circulating on social media and can reassure supporters that he has sustained no injuries and emerged from his vehicle completely unscathed.”
The vehicle was pictured overturned with significant visible damage, making the incident appear particularly serious. The crash happened on Millhouse Wood Lane, close to Hull’s training ground, while emergency services attended the area.
