Students, lecturers panic over possible eviction from hostels, classes as fresh crisis rocks Tansian varsity

Report from the Tansian University campus at Oba in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra is indicating that students and lecturers of the University are in serious panic following rumor making round that they may be evicted from their hostels and their classes over fresh crisis involving the management of the school and a stakeholder in Oba who is said to be the owner of the structures where the University is situated.

ThirdEye247 gathered that the crisis which has unsettled the students and the lecturers in the University is consequent upon an outstanding debt running Into millions of naira which the management of the school suppose to pay the stakeholder as the legitimate owner of the structures where the University is situated.

According to the findings of ThirdEye247, there was a crisis of ownership between the management of the University and the landlord of the place following which peace accord was made and the consent judgement from a Court of competent jurisdiction mandating the management of the University to be paying the stakeholder as the owner of the structures where the University is situated a certain amount of money as Honorarium annually was also obtained but the management has for long violated the peace accord and the consent judgement by reneging on the responsibility to pay the Honorarium for over seven years running.

A resident who lives close to the campus confided to ThirdEye247 on the condition of anonymity because he has no authority to speak on the matter related to the University that the rumor about the crisis between the University and one man in Oba here which may result to eviction of students and lecturers has been flying around for some days and the students and lecturers are not comfortable with it.

The resident who later directed our reporter to go to a nearby beer parlor for further investigation, went on to add thus:

“I hear that the University is owing the landlord who is the owner of the place and the landlord has got court judgement to take over the place, but I don’t know if it is true.

“That is what I heard. Go to the beer parlor and ask them because the landlord is a friend to the owner of the beer parlor.”

An attempt to reach out to the landlord through the owner of the beer parlor failed as his phone number was not connecting. Further investigation showed that the landlord traveled outside the country for business.

Attempt to reach the Public Relation Officer of Tansian University (PRO) Mr Chidi Peters Okorie also failed as he neither picked his call nor replied WhatsApp message sent to him.

In the absent of the PRO the Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Eugen Nwadialor when contacted on phone dismissed the report as fake news saying that nothing like panic among the students and staff in the University.
