Subsidy Fraud: Defendants got N1b instead of N300m – Witness

A prosecution witness has said that subsidy fraud defendants were only entitled to about N300 million as subsidy as against the about one billion Naira they were paid.

The witness, Effa Imoh Okim said this before Justice Olasumbo Goodluck of the Federal Capital Territory High Court.

Okim made this known at the resumed hearing in the trial of subsidy fraud and allied matter yesterday. 

The defendants are Helen Aninye, Chizobam Ben-Okafor and their company, Pon-Specialized Services Limited.

They are being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission [EFCC] on allegations of N1.4 billion subsidy fraud.
