Super Eagles striker Umar, El-Rufai’s son acquire Rancher Bees FC

Super Eagles forward Sadiq Umar and Hon. Bello El-Rufai, lawmaker representing Kaduna North Federal Constituency, have officially acquired Rancher Bees FC, a historic football club based in Kaduna.
The club, which is set to compete in the Nigeria National League (NNL) next season, holds a revered place in Nigerian football history for producing numerous former internationals and shaping Kaduna’s football legacy.
While expressing his excitement, Umar shared his vision for the club’s revival: “My partner, Honourable Bello, and I are determined to return Rancher Bees to its glory days. Growing up, I watched this iconic club, which has produced countless players. Owning it now is a source of immense pride and joy for us.”
As part of their plans, Rancher Bees FC will feature both an academy team and a professional squad for the upcoming NNL campaign.
Umar added, “Our goal is clear—secure promotion to the NPFL. The positive feedback from Rancher Bees supporters and the people of Kaduna has been overwhelming. We’re committed to bringing back cherished memories and reigniting the passion that will fill the stadium once again.”
With a loyal and enthusiastic fan base, the duo’s ownership marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for Rancher Bees FC as they aim to rebuild its legacy while inspiring a new generation of football talent.
