The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon fell for the swoop of the Eagles as they went home on Sunday with a 3-0 defeat tucked beneath their shirts.

This was despite Cameroon’s boast of a superior form record with five wins in their last six matches.

Their Eagles counterparts, meanwhile, have just two wins from the same number of matches played.

Fantastic goals by Efe Ambrose, Simon Moses and Odion Ighalo were all the Oliseh’s boys needed to retain their superiority over their Cameroonian counterparts.

On record, both teams have met nineteen times in the past, out of which Cameroon have won four times, while Nigeria boasts a massive eight wins and parting with seven draws.

The last time both teams met was at the 2004 Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia, where Nigeria defeated the Lions 2-1.

This latest win makes it nine for Nigeria in twenty encounters between the pair.

Experts believe that this will be a morale booster for the Eagles who are still nursing the unpalatable exit of their safest hands and Skipper, Vincent C.

Enyeama suddenly announced his unceremonious exit from the Super Eagles after an inglorious rift with the new team coach, Sunday Oliseh.

Oliseh on the other hand stirred the hornet’s bees when he ripped the captain badge from Enyeama and handed it CSKA Moscow Forward, Ahmed Musa.
