A deeply troubling incident in Ajah, Lagos, has ignited public outrage after a viral video surfaced showing a task force officer allegedly slapping a tricycle rider into a coma during a heated dispute over ₦200.

The distressing clip captures the moment the keke rider collapsed to the ground, lying unconscious as shocked bystanders gathered at the scene, visibly horrified by what had just occurred.

Eyewitnesses report that the altercation began when the officer demanded an additional payment, which the rider refused.

The situation quickly escalated, culminating in the officer allegedly delivering a slap so forceful it rendered the driver unconscious.

Adding to the outrage is the officer’s behavior following the incident—despite the rider’s critical condition, he appeared unbothered and continued with his duties as though nothing had happened.

This lack of empathy has sparked widespread condemnation online.

The voice behind the camera in the viral video alleged that the officer’s actions were motivated by his demand for money, which the driver refused to pay.

Throughout the duration of the video, no other security personnel were present to intervene or provide assistance to the injured man, further fueling public anger.

Many have criticized the absence of immediate medical help and the apparent disregard for the victim’s well-being.

As of now, neither the police nor the Ajah task force has issued an official statement addressing the incident.

The silence from authorities has left many Nigerians demanding accountability and justice for the tricycle rider, with calls for an investigation into the officer’s conduct and broader concerns about abuse of power by law enforcement.
