The ongoing controversy surrounding the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) has taken a new dimension.

Stakeholders have condemned the server glitches that disrupted the exam process across the country.

The National Chairman of the Nigeria Political Youth Movement (NPYM), Hon. Comrade Amechi T. Agu, has expressed serious concern over the technical setbacks encountered during the exam.

He described the development as a dangerous signal to the future of Nigeria’s education system.

According to reports monitored by Diaspora Digital Media (DDM), the UTME organized by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) was affected by severe server errors.

The glitches left thousands of candidates stranded, confused, and unable to complete their tests.

Hon. Amechi Agu made his position known during a conference call with affected candidates in Ikeja, Lagos.

He described the situation as unfortunate and disheartening.

He criticized the recurring technical issues in JAMB examinations.

He said many young Nigerians are already facing emotional stress and academic anxiety.

He stated that making students resit the same exam due to technical failures is unfair and demoralizing.

He stressed that the burden of these errors falls on innocent students seeking university admission.

Some candidates who spoke during the conference shared their frustrations.

They narrated how they waited for hours in exam halls without making any progress.

Many experienced frozen computer screens and failed login attempts.

One candidate described the experience as traumatic and stressful.

He urged JAMB to completely overhaul its ICT infrastructure to prevent future issues.

Hon. Amechi called on the JAMB management to invest in modern technology.

He also advised that ICT personnel be retrained for improved service delivery.

He warned that continued glitches could lead to loss of interest in education among Nigerian youth.

Despite his criticism, the NPYM Chairman praised JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede.

He commended the Registrar’s courage to take responsibility for the failure.

He noted that such leadership is rare in public institutions today.

He urged Nigerian leaders to emulate the JAMB boss and take responsibility when things go wrong.

He advised them to stop shifting blame and instead focus on solutions.

The incident comes amid growing concerns over the credibility of Nigeria’s educational institutions.

The UTME remains the key gateway to university admission for Nigerian students.

Any disruption in the process has nationwide consequences.

Many are now calling on the Ministry of Education to intervene urgently.

They want the integrity of the UTME restored without delay.
