According to information gathered by our correspondent, a contingent of officers from the Department of State Security (DSS), late Friday evening surrounded the home of two federal judges in Abuja.

The names of the judges, our correspondent gathered, are Nnamdi Dimgba and Adebiyi Ademola.

The judges are residents of 32 and 34 Samuel Ogbemudia Cresent in the Apo Legislative Quarters of Abuja respectively.

The invading officers arrived and surrounded Justice Dimgba’s home around 9p.m.

Shortly after the siege, the DSS agents began breaking into his compound with a sledgehammer.

Incidentally, Mr. Dimgba was not at home at the time of the invasion.

Justice Dimgba has been known for his vocal criticism of DSS for violating rights of persons detained at its facility.

He had recently berated DSS for not presenting Air Commodore Umar Mohammed to his court for a scheduled hearing.

Also, the home of Supreme Court judge, Justice Sylvanus Ngwuta was also reported to be under DSS siege.

In another development, DSS, same day, arrested Justice Muazu Pindiga

Justice Pindiga was the former Chairman of the Rivers State Governorship petition tribunal.

He was arrested for alleged bribery and corruption.

However, Pindiga, our readers will remember, was the judge that exposed the flagrant abuse of office bt the DSS in the Rivers State Governorship petition tribunal.

The judge revealed how he was bribed, threatened and eventually removed as the chairman of the tribunal.

Pindiga recounted his experience at the tribunal.

He had said, “Two weeks before I was removed as chairman of the Tribunal, I got a call from an unknown number, asking for an appointment for us to meet in Kaduna. And I asked, what for?

And the caller said, it’s on a need to know basis. That the details of the meeting would be made known to me in Kaduna. And I declined.

The next was a call from the DSS, saying they were all expecting me at meeting in Kaduna. And demanded why I turned down the appointment. And I said, I’m a chairman of a Tribunal, and do not have the luxury to attend meetings. Especially one without an agenda.
