Terrorism: US, UK Govts Warn Citizens To Stay Clear Of Northern States


United States, United Kingdom governments warned their citizens to stay clear of some northern states in Nigeria over fear of terrorists’ attacks.

The governments of the United States and United Kingdom have warned their citizens to stay clear of a number of northern states in Nigeria over fear of terrorists’ attacks.

The warning was contained in a memo issued out to their various citizens and made available by Elombah.com.

To that end, the two super powers have enjoined their citizens not to travel to the following states till the end of the year:

1. Adamawa, 

2. Bauchi, 

3. Borno, 

4. Gombe, 

5. Jigawa, and,

6. Yobe.

They claim to have intel that such places are most unsafe considering the wave of activities by Islamic Boko Haram terrorists, as well as Fulani herdsmen.

They also warned that terrorists are plotting to bomb Abuja, hence resident should beware.

Boko Haram has continued to wreak havoc in the northern part of Nigeria despite claim by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government that the terorist group has been “technically defeated”.

A recent survey showed that at least 1,100 persons have been killed by the group, including soldiers and policemen, since that claim was made in December 2015.

In a recent development, suspected Fulani herdsmen, on Monday, executed reprisal attacks on Lawaru and Dong Communities in Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa state.

According to report, the villages are being burnt down by the assailants.
