Terrorists kill another university lecturer

Mr Tiri David, a university lecturer at the Federal University, Dutsinma (FUDMA) in Katsina State have been killed.
David who was the Head of the Department of Agricultural Economics, Extension, and Rural Development was attacked at his residence in Yarima Quarters, a housing estate in Dutsinma local government area around 1:30am on Tuesday.
NewsBand gathered that the terrorists, armed to the teeth, invaded the community, shooting indiscriminately before targeting David’s home.
The violent assault resulted in his death and the abduction of his two children.
Abubakar Aliyu, the police spokesman of the command in Katsina State confirmed the incident to reporters but was unable to provide further details immediately.
Meanwhile, this incident marks the second time in less than 10 days that a university lecturer has been killed by terrorists in Nigeria’s North-west.
Previously, Yusuf Saidu, a professor in the Department of Biochemistry and deputy vice-chancellor of Usmanu Danfodiyo University in Sokoto, was killed along with his driver on a dangerous highway between Zamfara and Kaduna states.
The North-western states, including Katsina, Zamfara, Kaduna, Sokoto, and Kebbi, have been plagued by frequent terrorist attacks.
These violent groups have transformed several regions into war zones, making life increasingly perilous for the predominantly agrarian communities, with continuous assaults on roads, farms, and homes.
