Madumere and Amuneke honoured by the Good Templars

In a grand display of dedication to humanitarian values, The “Good Templars Humanitarian Organization (Nigeria)”, renowned for its inspiring slogan “Service to Humanity,” successfully hosted its South-East Regional Humanitarian Summit on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the historic Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, Imo State.

Themed “Fostering the Spirit, Philosophies, and Practices of Humanitarianism for Greater Awareness and Inclusivity,” the summit attracted dignitaries and stakeholders from across the five South-East states of Nigeria.

Delegations from all 27 Local Government Areas of Imo State were also in attendance, making it one of the most widely represented humanitarian gatherings in the region’s recent history.

The core objective of the summit was to deepen public understanding of humanitarian values, promote inter-state collaboration, and ignite grassroots-driven service initiatives.

The event further emphasized the principles of compassion, empathy, unity, and collective responsibility towards societal welfare.

A major pillar behind the summit’s success was the visionary leadership of Hon. Engr. Comr. Chukwuemeka Amajuoyi (Sheriff), the National Director of the Good Templars Humanitarian Organization (Nigeria).

His strategic coordination, unwavering dedication, and passion for humanity were widely applauded by participants and observers alike.

A key highlight of the day was the Special Humanitarian Recognition Awards, where distinguished individuals were honoured for their outstanding service to humanity.

Among the recipients was Coach Emmanuel Amuneke, the celebrated Head Coach of Heartland FC, Owerri, recognized for his profound impact on youth development and community empowerment.

Though Coach Amuneke could not attend in person, his goodwill and appreciation were eloquently conveyed by Hon. Deacon Dan Opara (Danjay), the Publisher and CEO of ThePressman Newspaper, who represented him at the summit.

Another notable honouree was Prince Eze Madumere, MFR, former Deputy Governor of Imo State and a prominent political figure widely believed to be a frontline contender for the 2027 Imo Governorship race.

Though unavoidably absent, Prince Madumere’s heartfelt message was delivered by Hon. Dan Opara, who assured the audience of the Prince’s continued support for humanitarian initiatives across the state and beyond.

In closing, the summit resonated with strong calls for greater participation in humanitarian services.

Speakers charged individuals, organizations, and government bodies to foster a culture of compassion, inclusivity, and selfless service in addressing the region’s social challenges.

The Good Templars Humanitarian Organization reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the cause of humanity, not just within the South-East, but across Nigeria and the African continent at large.
