Sen Dino Melaye speaking on Senate Standing Rules says “the same rule that’s said to be a fraud has been used to screen nuisance like AGF.”
Senator Dino Melaye still speaking vehemently says this same Senate Standing Rule has screened Ministers, Ambassadors, Directors, etc.
“This Senate without fear or favour will continue to promote the peace and unity of this great nation.”
Senator Bassey Akpan rises to second the motion moved by Senator Dino Melaye.
He also urges other senators to do same.
Senator Nwaoboshi now speaking says “I wasn’t sent here to legislate with fear or legislate as a coward, I was sent to represent my people.”
Senator Nwaoboshi says the Senate needs to rise up to speak and defend democracy as there is an attempt to strangulate the legislature.
Senator Nwaoboshi says whoever is not satisfied with the Senate Standing Rules should move a motion for an amendment as it is required.
Senator Chukwuka Utazi now speaking on the Motion says the affairs of the Senate should not be the business of someone else outside.
Senator Utazi urges the Senate to work as a united arm of National Assembly Nigeria. He further says the Senate cannot be intimidated.
Senator Chukwuka Utazi says this is a blow to democracy and the current situation in Nigeria can be compared to that of a military regime.
Senator Isah Misau now speaking says this is a calculated attempt by the Attorney General who may likely be sponsored by a group somewhere.
Senator Isah Misau says the outgoing I.G of Police, Arase promoted a lot of junior officers above their due rank. He says that is corruption!
Senator Isah Misau also says this is an attempt to dent the name of @NGRPresident because a lot of these things go on without his knowledge.
Senator Ibrahim Gobir now speaking says there is nothing wrong with the Senate Standing Rules; urges the Senate to maintain status quo.
Senator Sam Anyanwu also supports the Motion raised by Senator Dino Melaye.
DSP Ekweremadu says he doesn’t want to say much ’cause he is involved but for those using their office to persecute others, there’s tomorrow

The Senate accordingly resolves to mandate Judiciary Committee to summon the AGF to explain and justify with evidence the basis for his act…
…and explain why it doesn’t constitute incompetence, gross misconduct, contempt of court and abuse of office.
The Senate accordingly resolves that it’s Standing Rules is authentic and it’s not forged.
