The General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, recently spoke on God’s anger and mercy.

He based his message on Micah 7:18, highlighting God’s justice alongside His loving and merciful nature, Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) gathers.

“Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity… He retaineth not his anger forever,” he quoted.

However, he quickly clarified that God’s anger is real and directed specifically at the wicked.

“The Bible doesn’t say God is not angry. It says God is angry with the wicked,” he explained.

He emphasized that this anger is ongoing, “How long? How often? Every day,” Pastor Kumuyi warned.

God’s anger is not random or unfair but a response to continuous wickedness and unrepentant sin.

Many wrongly believe God’s anger is a thing of the past, but scripture states otherwise.

“God is angry with the wicked every day,” he repeated, urging self-examination and repentance.

Despite God’s anger, He delights in mercy and eagerly forgives the repentant sinner.

“When that wicked person, prodigal son, or backslider returns, God doesn’t retain His anger forever,” he stated.

“The anger and punishment are removed because He delights in mercy,” Pastor Kumuyi explained.

He also addressed those facing both sin and sickness, urging forgiveness as the first step.

“If you are sinful and sick, ask God first for pardon, forgiveness,” he advised the congregation.

Spiritual restoration, he said, often precedes physical healing and total wellness.

God’s mercy is always available to anyone who humbly turns from sin and repents.

“His mercy is unlimited, ready to forgive the moment we sincerely repent,” he declared.

Pastor Kumuyi ended with a call for Christians to flee sin and embrace God’s mercy.

“God’s anger is real, but His love and forgiveness are greater for those who return,” he concluded.

His message stands as a warning and an invitation, warning the wicked and inviting the repentant.

It echoes the timeless promise of redemption for all who choose righteousness through Christ.
