The publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore has tackled President Bola Tinubu after his administration announced measures to cushion the effects of the removal of petrol subsidy.
President Tinubu recently announced a poverty alleviation scheme in which N8,000 will be transferred to 12 million poor households in the Nigeria monthly.
According to the president, the money will be given to poor Nigerians as palliative for six months.
But while reacting to federal government’s decision to provide palliative to Nigerians for six months, the convener of #Revolutionnow mocked the policy.
Taking to his official social media page, Sowore described Tinubu’s administration as a government of ‘renewed shege’, adding that it’s on a mission to sustain the hardship currently felt by Nigerians.
The human rights activist went on to break down what the palliative will amounts to daily and described the idea as a joke taken too far.
He also noted that the new administration has no respect for the citizens of the country.
Sowore however, called for a revolution.
He said, “The govt of #RenewedShege! So, @officialABAT is going to provide palliative of N53 per day for 6 months?
“Jokes carried too far! These guys don’t rate Nigerians! #Revolutionnow.”.
