Thugs Set Ablaze School Containing Electoral Materials In Benue

Multiple sources have confirmed that suspected hoodlums set ablaze a primary school containing electoral materials in Benue State Saturday morning.

According to an ad-hoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), voters fled when gunmen stormed the Roman Catholic Missionary Primary School in Mbalon Council Ward of Gwer East Local Government Council in Benue.

The heavily armed hoodlums numbering about 20 arrived fired sporadic shots into the air sending people to run helter-skelter.

No death was recorded but some voters suffered bodily harm while fleeing.

The hoodlums subsequently  burned down all the election materials.

Besides, the incident of Primary School in Mbalon Council Ward, there were also reports that the PDP ward office in Wannunen was razed down by angry youth.

Wannunen is the village of Senator George Akume, an All Progressives Congress [APC] Chieftain in Benue State.
