Mr. Babatunde Ogala has denied claims that the Tinubu administration is weaponising poverty in Nigeria.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) reports that Ogala made this statement during a dinner in Abuja attended by Nigerians at home and abroad.

The event marked the mid-term of President Bola Tinubu’s administration and celebrated its achievements across key national sectors.

The dinner’s theme was “Two Years of Impact: Honouring Mr President and the Voices of Renewed Hope.”

Ogala, who is also Senior Legal Counsel to President Tinubu, rejected opposition claims about worsening poverty under the current administration.

He said such narratives are misleading and do not reflect the government’s reforms or measurable development efforts.

He cited progress in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and the economy as proof of the administration’s commitment to national transformation.

Ogala noted that these achievements show a deliberate and strategic approach to inclusive growth and citizen empowerment.

According to him, the Tinubu-led government remains focused on reforms designed to create long-term, inclusive, and sustainable prosperity.

He appreciated Nigerians in the diaspora for supporting the APC government despite limited political appointments and other constraints.

“We appreciate the Renewed Hope Diaspora for promoting the government, the party, and the country internationally,” Ogala stated.

He reaffirmed the administration’s resolve to deliver on its mandate and build a stronger, more united Nigeria.

Mr. Ade Omole, the event’s chief host, also addressed attendees during the dinner held in Abuja.

Omole, former Director of the APC Diaspora Campaign Council, described the gathering as a moment of truth and reflection.

He stated that the Tinubu government is focused on impact, not just marking time in office.

“Progress has not only emerged but endured under this leadership,” he told the gathering of supporters.

He urged critics to consider the facts and acknowledge the administration’s efforts and achievements.

Dr. Aliyu Modibo, Special Adviser to the President on General Duties, also spoke at the event.

He represented Vice President Kashim Shettima and praised Tinubu’s inclusive and strategic leadership.

Modibo said the administration is building a Nigeria where every citizen feels represented and protected.

“President Tinubu is fully dedicated to building a Nigeria where everyone is carried along,” he stated.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fairness, accountability, and national renewal.

The dinner brought together APC leaders, support group members, government officials, and representatives from various states and the diaspora.

It provided a platform to highlight progress and renew collective support for the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Attendees expressed optimism about the administration’s direction and its long-term vision for Nigeria’s future.
