Tinubu appoints another Yoruba man as Controller General of Federal Fire Service

Tinubu grants states full control over electricity

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Deputy Controller General (DCG) Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as the new Controller General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), effective August 14, 2025.

DCG Adeyemi’s appointment follows the imminent retirement of the current Controller General, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, who will be attaining the age of 60 on August 13, 2025.

The new Controller General brings a wealth of experience, having transferred his service from the FCT Fire Service to the Federal Fire Service and risen to the rank of Deputy Controller-General of Fire in the Human Resource Directorate.

Adeyemi is a member/fellow of several professional associations, including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria.

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has extended its appreciation to Engr. Olola for his remarkable contributions to the development of the Federal Fire Service during his tenure.

The new Controller General is expected to build on the initiatives and progress made by his predecessor, ensuring the continued growth and effectiveness of the Federal Fire Service.
