Tinubu has agreed to pick Muslim running mate — Ganduje

Published

The executive governor of Kano State, Umar Ganduje said yesterday that the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, has agreed to pick a Muslim vice-presidential candidate from the North.

“We have advised him to pick a Muslim deputy and he has agreed,” Ganduje told a gathering of about 100 clerics at the Kano State Government House as part of activities to mark Eid El Kabir.

Ganduje described a Muslim-Muslim ticket as “a reality” and “not something new in Nigeria.”

He asked the clerics to pray for Tinubu to emerge victorious in the 2023 election and to offer prayers for continued peace and progress in Kano as well as his Deputy Governor, Yusuf Gawuna, who is the APC governorship candidate in the state.
