Tinubu reaffirms commitment to regional unity, Global cooperation

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu welcomed six new ambassadors to Nigeria on Thursday, reinforcing the nation’s dedication to regional unity and international partnerships.

During the ceremony at the State House in Abuja, he emphasized Nigeria’s readiness to collaborate on democratic transitions, economic growth, and global challenges.

Speaking with Mali’s Ambassador Cheick Oumar Coulibaly, President Tinubu stressed the importance of West African solidarity.

“We are one in Africa,” he said. “No nation succeeds alone.” He assured Mali of Nigeria’s support for its democratic progress and encouraged stronger bilateral ties. Ambassador Coulibaly thanked Nigeria for its leadership in regional peace efforts.

The President also met with the Netherlands’ Ambassador Bengt Van Loosdrecht, discussing shared goals in peacebuilding and economic cooperation. Both leaders expressed optimism about deepening relations to tackle common global issues.

Tanzania’s High Commissioner Selestine Gervas Kakele highlighted growing cultural and business exchanges between both nations. President Tinubu praised Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s leadership and acknowledged Nigerian companies investing in Tanzania.

Russia’s Ambassador Andrey Leonidovich Podelyshev discussed ongoing partnerships in steel production, education, and nuclear energy. President Tinubu called for more technological collaboration, citing the Ajaokuta Steel Complex as a key project needing further development.

Swiss Ambassador Patrick Egloff noted increasing Swiss investments in Nigeria, particularly in manufacturing and security cooperation. President Tinubu pledged regulatory improvements to boost investor confidence.

Bosnia and Herzegovina’s non-resident Ambassador Dr. Sabit Subasic invited the President to visit, showcasing his country’s progress. President Tinubu welcomed the gesture, emphasizing Nigeria’s commitment to stronger bilateral relations.

Throughout the meetings, President Tinubu reiterated that global challenges require collective action. “No one can do it alone,” he stated, urging nations to unite for peace and prosperity.
