Tinubu will lose 2027 election— Primate Ayodele

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has predicted that President Bola Tinubu will lose the 2027 presidential election, saying growing public dissatisfaction over hardship could shape the outcome of the polls.

Speaking during a church service in Lagos, the cleric said attempts to influence voters with food items or financial inducements would not succeed, insisting that many Nigerians are frustrated by the country’s economic situation.

Primate Ayodele also threw his weight behind comments recently made by the Archbishop Emeritus of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja, Cardinal John Onaiyekan, saying the senior cleric had spoken the truth about the state of the nation.

He argued that some religious leaders had failed to tell the President the realities facing ordinary Nigerians.

“There is anger and hunger in the land,” Ayodele said, adding that Nigerians would express their frustrations through the ballot box in the 2027 general election.

He further warned that advisers surrounding the President could mislead him if they failed to present an accurate picture of public sentiment.

Ayodele maintained that addressing the country’s economic and social challenges would be more effective than relying on political inducements ahead of the next election.

His comments come amid increasing political debate over the performance of the Tinubu administration and growing discussions about the 2027 presidential race.

Neither the Presidency nor the All Progressives Congress (APC) had responded to the cleric’s remarks at the time of filing this report.
