Barrister Daniel Bwala, a media aide to President Bola Tinubu, has debunked claims that his principal is in France for medical reason.

He insisted that the President is abroad solely for official engagements.

While speaking on Channels Television, Daniel Bwala said the President’s trip to Paris has been misinterpreted by online commentators.

“Sometimes on social media, somebody will be tweeting, you don’t even know who the person is; it can be somebody who has mental health somewhere. You just see that information is coming out.

“The president did not go to see a doctor; he’s on a working visit and we have been publishing his activities,” Bwala said.

Mr. Tinubu departed Nigeria on April 2, 2025, for a brief working visit to Paris, according to a statement issued by his spokesman, Chief Bayo Onanuga.

Onanuga explained that the trip would serve as an opportunity for Tinubu to assess the progress of ongoing reforms and participate in strategic sessions in preparation for the second anniversary of his administration.
