President Bola Tinubu’s administration appears very clueless as the national grid has abruptly collapsed again, throwing the entire nation into complete darkness.
Moreover, this will be the third occurrence within a week.
The repeated grid failures aggravated frustrations among citizens, as businesses, households, and essential services struggle to cope with the country’s epileptic power supply.
The latest outage happened on Saturday morning, with reports of total blackouts emerging from several states across the federation.
This collapse follows two earlier disruptions within the same week, further exposing the vulnerabilities of Nigeria’s power infrastructure.
According to data retrieved from the Nigerian System Operator’s portal (niggrid.org), power generation nosedived to zero megawatts (MW) at 8:16am today.
At the time of filing this report, all 22 generation companies (GenCos) were confirmed to be offline, compounding the sector’s ongoing woes.
