(DDM) Nigerian music superstar Tiwa Savage has revealed that she has never truly experienced love in her romantic relationships, except for the bond she shares with her son, Jamil.

DDM gathered that the 45-year-old singer made the emotional disclosure during an interview with media personality Zeze Mills, reflecting deeply on her past relationships and the lessons they taught her.

According to the award-winning artiste, what she once believed to be love was, in hindsight, nothing more than infatuation.

“I don’t think I’ve experienced true love apart from my son,” she said.

She explained that looking back at all her relationships, including her marriage, she no longer believes they were built on genuine love.

“At that time, I thought I was in love. I was just infatuated. Even when I was married, I don’t think I experienced true love,” she added.

Tiwa Savage was married to Tunji ‘TeeBillz’ Balogun in 2013, but the union ended in 2018 after a highly publicized separation.

The singer had previously opened up about facing postpartum depression and a lack of emotional support during the marriage, challenges that contributed to the breakdown of the relationship.

In the interview, Tiwa admitted that perhaps love is not destined for her in this lifetime, despite her repeated efforts to find it.

“Maybe love isn’t for me because I have tried over and over again, so maybe love isn’t for me this lifetime,” she said.

Despite her global fame, numerous awards, and sold-out concerts, the “Kele Kele Love” crooner shared that she continues to battle public scrutiny and societal expectations regarding her personal life.

She recalled the pressure she faced during her divorce, revealing that several influential individuals advised her to remain silent to avoid scandal and protect her public image.

The singer, however, emphasized that her greatest and truest love remains the one she shares with her son, who she says has been a constant source of strength and inspiration.

Tiwa Savage’s candid revelations have sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many fans praising her honesty and others sharing their own stories of heartbreak and self-discovery.

The singer continues to dominate the music scene with her powerful vocals, stage performances, and international collaborations, even as she navigates the complexities of life beyond the spotlight.
