(DDM) – High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has pledged ₦10 billion to support the newly launched Delta State Security Trust Fund.

Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) reports that the announcement was made during the official launch of the Trust Fund at the Government House in Asaba, a development aimed at strengthening security across the state.

Tompolo, who serves as the Chairman of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, emphasized that the donation reflects his commitment to enhancing safety and protecting lives in Delta State.

Officials described the ₦10 billion contribution as one of the largest private sector investments in state security in Nigeria, underscoring Tompolo’s influence and dedication to regional stability.

The Delta State Security Trust Fund, launched to complement government security efforts, is designed to provide resources for equipment, intelligence gathering, training, and operational support for security agencies across the state.

Governor Oborevwori lauded the gesture, noting that private-public collaboration is crucial for maintaining peace, curbing crime, and ensuring the smooth movement of goods and people in Delta’s critical commercial corridors.

Tompolo highlighted that his contribution is not limited to financial support but also encompasses strategic input into security planning and infrastructure development, aiming for long-term impact in the Niger Delta.

Security analysts say that private donations like this set a precedent for civic responsibility and encourage other stakeholders to participate actively in enhancing community safety.

The launch ceremony also served as a platform to outline plans for multi-agency collaboration, including the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services, and local vigilante networks, working together to secure vulnerable areas.

Local residents have welcomed the announcement, expressing optimism that the Trust Fund, backed by Tompolo’s donation, will significantly reduce crime and foster economic growth in Delta State.

Experts argue that combining private support with government oversight can create a more responsive and resilient security framework, especially in regions historically challenged by unrest and criminal activities.

Tompolo reiterated his commitment to peace and development in the Niger Delta, stressing that security is a shared responsibility between government, private sector, and citizens.

The event concluded with calls for ongoing community engagement, transparency in fund management, and accountability to ensure that the Trust Fund achieves its intended objectives.

Observers say the initiative could serve as a model for other states seeking to leverage private-sector support to strengthen security and enhance public safety nationwide.
