A Magistrates’ Court in Jos on Wednesday sentenced a 22-year-old trader, David Uche, to four months imprisonment for stealing a he-goat.
Uche pleaded guilty to charge filed against him by the police.
Magistrate Irene Pati gave the convict an option of N30,000 fine.
She also ordered that the recovered he-goat should be returned to the complainant.
Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Ibrahim Gokwat, told the court that the case was reported on Aug.14, at the “A” Division police station by Mr Anthony Davou, the complainant.
Gokwat said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 286 of the Plateau Penal Code Law.
