Traders Count Losses as another Fire Razes Balogun Market

Published

Traders in Balogun Market in Lagos State are brooding over their losses as another fire outbreak razed the popular Lagos Island market.

This is the second incident in the year as fire had earlier in the year razed some shops and rendered some traders barren of their sources of livelihood.

The latest incident occurred at 32, Gbajumo Street mid-Thursday morning.

Speculations are rife over the cause of the fire, but eyewitnesses say that the fire erupted as the manager was trying to operate the power switch.

The Fire Brigades Corps when they eventually arrived at the scene met a handful of destruction as cubicles set on the streets made the engulfed building nearly impossible to access.
