Tragedy: 2 Nigerian students drown after boat capsizes in Malaysia
Two Nigerian students from a university in Malaysia are believed to have drowned when their boat capsized yesterday, The borneo post reports.
A search and rescue team was assembled to search for the duo, identified as Amate Mohamad Amate and Emine-Imoh Daniel Udoh.
The two went missing when their boat, carrying seven people, capsized while on a research trip.
The surviving five – three students and the boat operator and a tour guide – managed to swim to safety.
As at 12.45pm(malaysia time) today, one body has been found. The search and rescue team is intensifying efforts to locate the other missing student.
The identity of the body has been confirmed as that of Amate Mohamad Amate.
The second body, belonging to Emine-Imoh Daniel Udoh, was recovered at 5.15pm(malaysia time).
