Troops crush more bandit leaders, nab key suspect in Plateau

Troops under Operation Hadarin Daji have successfully taken down four notorious bandit leaders in Zamfara State.

The terrorists identified as Ibrahim Nagure, Lawali Dodo, Kadiri, and Jambaleri, were crushed in an operation that followed the recent killing of Halilu Sububu, a major leader of the terror group tormenting the North West.

Also, in another military operation, troops captured a wanted terrorist leader, Hosseini Osman, in Ganawuri village, Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Osman confessed to masterminding numerous deadly attacks, including a recent assault in Ganawuri village, resulting in the sad loss of innocent lives.

He also admitted to involvement in a kidnapping network linked to several abductions in the area.

Using intelligence gathered from Osman’s confession, troops immediately mobilized to Kyaram village in Kanam Local Government Area, successfully rescuing several abducted victims.

PRNigeria quoting Defence Intelligence reported that troops executed a strategic ambush against terrorists fleeing from the Sambisa Forest towards the Mandara Mountains in Gwoza Local Government Area.

This operation led to heavy casualties among Boko Haram fighters and the seizure of a huge cache of weapons and ammunition.

Also in Kaduna State, troops raided a suspected terrorist hideout in the Gobarawa Forest, Birnin Gwari.

The criminals scattered, leaving behind five AK-47 rifles, 16 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, and five motorcycles, as confirmed by a military defense source.

Earlier intelligence reports revealed that Sububu played a key role in inciting violence in Zamfara until his elimination.

A reliable source confirmed that the military’s intensive clearance operation resulted in the removal of Sububu and other bandits.

Troops also seized various firearms, ammunition, and motorcycles used by the criminals.

Investigation indicated that Sububu was responsible for the death of a drone pilot and an operative of the Department of State Services (DSS) around two months ago, along with several abductions and killings in Zamfara.
