Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have intensified their fight against terrorism in Zamfara and Sokoto states.

Diaspora digital media (DDM) gathered that they launched a major offensive that neutralized dozens of terrorists, including top commanders, and rescued kidnapped victims.

The military operation, conducted between February 1 and 10, 2025, targeted notorious terrorist enclaves.

It significantly weakened terrorist networks and restored peace to communities affected by violent attacks.

Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre, Lt. Col. Abubakar Abdullahi, confirmed the success of the operation.

He stated that among those neutralized were high-profile terrorist kingpins who had terrorized the region for years.

The list included Kachalla Na Faransa, Dogon Bakkwalo, Auta Gobaje, and Dan Mai Dutsi.

The battles occurred in Shinkafi and Zurmi local government areas of Zamfara State.

They also took place in Isa local government area of Sokoto State.

Troops engaged the terrorists in fierce combat, destroying their hideouts and strongholds.

Over 40 terrorist camps were dismantled during the operation.

The identified camps were located in Tungar Fulani, Unguwar Goga, Gangara Hill, and Gidan Maji.

The offensive led to the seizure of a significant cache of arms and ammunition.

This move effectively reduced the terrorists’ ability to launch further attacks on innocent civilians.

Troops also carried out a successful rescue mission, freeing dozens of kidnapped victims.

The rescued victims were immediately provided with medical care and reunited with their families.

Security analysts have hailed the operation as a major breakthrough in the fight against terrorism.

The military has assured the public of continued operations to eliminate all terrorist threats in the region.

Lt. Col. Abdullahi urged citizens to provide intelligence on fleeing terrorists and their hideouts.

He assured that all information would be handled with strict confidentiality.

He specifically called for assistance in locating notorious terrorist leader Bello Turji and his associates.

“With this achievement, troops have dealt a significant blow to terrorist operations in Zamfara and Sokoto states,” Abdullahi stated.

He reaffirmed the military’s commitment to restoring peace and stability in the northwest.

The recent success has brought renewed confidence to communities previously plagued by insecurity.

Residents have expressed relief, noting the significant reduction in attacks in recent weeks.

Security forces are intensifying surveillance and ground operations to prevent any resurgence.

Authorities have reassured the public that the fight against terrorism remains a top priority.

Troops remain determined to sustain the momentum and completely eradicate terrorist activities in the region.
