Trump admits Israel suffered heavy missile damage during final phase of Iran war

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has admitted that Israel suffered significant destruction during the final stages of its recent war with Iran.
Diaspora Digital Media (DDM) reports that Trump, speaking at the NATO summit in The Netherlands, described the damage caused by Iranian ballistic missiles as devastating, saying Israel was “hit very hard” in the closing days of the conflict.
According to the Times of Israel, Trump made the remarks during a press briefing where he discussed the aftermath of the intense confrontation between Iran and Israel.
He noted that many buildings were destroyed by Iranian missile strikes, particularly in Israel’s central and northern regions.
“Those ballistic missiles, boy, they took out a lot of buildings,” Trump stated bluntly.
His remarks represent one of the most candid acknowledgments by a top American figure of the scale of damage Israel endured, especially at a time when both countries have focused more on the strategic successes of the war.
Despite the destruction, Trump praised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for what he described as strong and effective leadership throughout the crisis.
“Bibi Netanyahu should be very proud of himself,” Trump said, crediting him with managing Israel’s response and coordinating with U.S. forces.
The Israel-Iran conflict escalated rapidly after months of proxy tensions, culminating in a direct exchange of firepower.
While Israeli and American forces reportedly targeted and destroyed Iranian missile sites and military infrastructure, Iran retaliated with a massive missile barrage.
Some of those missiles overwhelmed Israeli air defenses in the final days of the war.
As a result, large parts of Israel’s infrastructure were left damaged, with residential and commercial areas flattened by the strikes.
Although Israeli authorities have not published a complete report of the damage, satellite images and eyewitness accounts confirm widespread destruction.
Trump also addressed the ceasefire deal that eventually ended the war.
He described the agreement as “very equal,” noting that both sides had reached a point where continuing the war was no longer sustainable.
“They both said, ‘That’s enough,’” Trump explained. “It reached a point where both sides knew the cost of continuing was simply too high.”
Critics have argued that the ceasefire was premature, but Trump defended the decision, saying it was a necessary recognition of the limits of military confrontation.
He added that the war had successfully degraded Iran’s ability to launch further attacks, even though the human and economic cost to Israel was severe.
“This was a tremendous victory, a tremendous hit,” Trump declared. “But yes, the cost was high, especially for Israel. They stood strong, but they paid for it.”
Trump’s unusually frank tone has attracted global attention, with analysts noting that his comments shed light on the often-overlooked consequences of modern missile warfare.
While most Western leaders have focused on the geopolitical implications, Trump highlighted the personal and national toll exacted by high-tech conflict.
In closing, Trump said he was open to future diplomatic talks with Iran but emphasized the need for strict limits on Tehran’s military activities.
“We’ll see what happens,” he said. “But make no mistake, they know now what we can do.”
Observers believe Trump’s remarks could shape how the world remembers the Israel-Iran conflict, not only as a military victory but also as a painful reminder of war’s heavy cost.
