Trump Blasts Elon Musk’s America Party in Explosive Outburst

President Donald Trump has launched a blistering attack on Elon Musk, slamming the billionaire’s new political movement, the America Party, as “ridiculous” and a dangerous distraction from the traditional two-party system.
Speaking to reporters before boarding Air Force One on Sunday, July 6, 2025, Trump dismissed Musk’s third-party plan.
“It’s always been a two-party system. Starting a third party only adds confusion,” he said.
Diaspora Digital Media learnt that Musk had earlier unveiled the America Party on his social platform X, pledging to disrupt the “Republican and Democratic Uniparty.”
He said the new party would focus on 2026 midterm elections, not the presidential race.
The move signals a major fallout between two former allies. Musk once chaired Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a short-lived advisory team tasked with cutting federal spending.
Now, the former president says Musk has gone completely “off the rails.”
In a sharp Truth Social post, Trump wrote:
“It’s sad to watch Elon Musk become a train wreck over the past five weeks.”
Trump also condemned Musk’s push for an Electric Vehicle (EV) mandate, calling it a coercive, one-size-fits-all policy.
“He wanted to force Americans to buy electric cars. That won’t happen under my watch,” Trump declared.
Trump’s new July 4 tax and spending law eliminates EV tax credits, allowing Americans to choose between gas, hybrid, or new tech vehicles.
The controversial legislation increases funding for border security, defense, and energy, but includes deep cuts to healthcare and food assistance.
This has already triggered national protests and backlash from progressive lawmakers.
Musk has not directly responded to Trump’s attack. But in a post on X, he said:
“Our focus for the next 12 months is the House and Senate. America needs fresh voices.”
Political analysts say Musk’s party could pull support from tech libertarians, disillusioned Republicans, and independent voters.
The clash sets up a dramatic new power struggle as the 2026 midterms draw closer.
