President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s commitment to defeating terrorism in Nigeria, stating that the country will not be intimidated or derailed despite rising international concerns.
In a statement posted on his official X account, Tinubu emphasized that Nigeria will continue to assert itself on the global stage with “calm, clarity, and a strong sense of purpose”.
The President acknowledged the nation’s enduring security crisis, stating that terrorism remains a long-standing challenge, but assured citizens that the government is determined to overcome it.
“We will decisively defeat terrorism and claim victory in this battle. Security is non-negotiable, and we will never compromise on this principle,” he said.
Tinubu stressed that national security is paramount and vowed to eliminate threats to peace.
He called on international partners to support Nigeria’s fight against terrorism, noting that collaboration is critical to sustaining progress.
“We urge our allies to stand firmly with us as we amplify our fight against terrorism. We have made significant progress in the past two years and we will decisively eliminate this threat,” he added.
The President also expressed gratitude to the armed forces and intelligence community for their sacrifices in defending national unity, stating, “Your commitment is our strength in the fight against terror”.
