Two Men arrested after Brighton rape report

Two men were arrested after a 19-year-old man reported being raped in Brighton.

The alleged assault occurred in Steine Lane around 03:30 GMT on Saturday, according to Sussex Police.

The victim had been approached by two unknown men earlier near Harry Ramsdens restaurant in Old Steine.

A 40-year-old man from Redhill, Surrey, and a 42-year-old man from Chessington, Kingston-Upon-Thomas, were arrested on suspicion of rape on Boxing Day.

They remain in custody as the investigation continues.

Det Insp Sean Booth stated, “These arrests were a direct result of excellent work from our dedicated team of staff, officers, and the public.”

The victim is receiving support from specialist officers during the investigation.

Police in Brighton are still appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
