UK Court Sentences Nigerian Man to Six Years in Prison

A 41-year-old Nigerian man, Elvis Nosakhare, has been sentenced to six years in prison in the United Kingdom for sexually abusing a minor.
According to reports, the offences occurred after he met the child’s mother through an online dating platform.
The sentencing took place on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Aylesbury Crown Court following a detailed investigation by Thames Valley Police.
According to an official statement from the police, Nosakhare was convicted earlier this year after a trial.
The court found him guilty of two counts of penetrative sexual activity with a girl and three counts of non-penetrative sexual activity with the same victim.
Nosakhare, a resident of Sheelin Grove, Bletchley, has also been ordered to register as a sex offender for life.
Additionally, the court issued a restraining order to prevent further contact with the victim or her family.
Police revealed that the abuse began after Nosakhare met the victim’s mother on an online dating site.
He later used that access to groom and abuse her underage daughter.
Detective Constable Bryn Smith, from the Child Abuse Unit, commended the young victim’s courage throughout the investigation and trial.
“I hope that Elvis Nosakhare’s conviction and sentence give her some sense of justice,” he stated.
Smith further emphasized that Thames Valley Police remains committed to tackling sexual offences.
He encouraged victims and anyone with information to come forward, promising that they will be listened to and supported.
“If you or someone you know has experienced sexual abuse, please reach out,” he added.
“You can contact the police by calling 101, through the website, or by visiting any local police station.”
Nosakhare’s sentencing highlights the seriousness of sexual offences in the UK and the ongoing efforts to protect children from predators, regardless of nationality.
