LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM — The NEBOSH has opened applications for the Michael Adamson Diploma Scholarships 2026, offering fully funded opportunities for occupational health and safety professionals to pursue an advanced qualification in workplace safety management.

The scholarship programme will support 20 successful applicants worldwide to study the NEBOSH Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management Professionals, a qualification widely recognized across industries for developing senior safety leadership skills.

According to the programme details, seven scholarships have been allocated to applicants from the United Kingdom, while 13 awards will be available to international candidates. The initiative is designed to help experienced professionals enhance their expertise without the financial burden typically associated with advanced safety qualifications.

The scholarship was established in memory of Michael Adamson, who lost his life in a preventable workplace incident in 2005. The programme aims to promote stronger workplace safety cultures globally and encourage professionals to take leadership roles in improving occupational health and safety standards.

Recipients of the award will receive full funding covering tuition fees, examination and assessment costs, as well as official study materials. However, organisers noted that the scholarship does not include living expenses, travel allowances, or relocation support, as the programme is delivered entirely online.

Eligibility for the scholarship is limited to candidates who already possess either the NEBOSH National General Certificate or the NEBOSH International General Certificate. The requirement is intended to ensure that applicants have a solid foundation in occupational health and safety before undertaking the advanced diploma programme.

The opportunity is expected to attract safety officers, health and safety coordinators, compliance professionals, risk management specialists, and engineers seeking to transition into leadership positions within safety-critical industries.

Selection will be based on applicants’ professional experience, career progression in occupational health and safety, commitment to improving workplace safety standards, and the quality of their written submissions. Organisers warned that generic responses, copied content, and applications that fail to comply with word limits may be rejected during the assessment process.

The NEBOSH Diploma is highly regarded by employers in sectors such as construction, manufacturing, mining, logistics, and energy, where effective safety management and regulatory compliance remain critical priorities. The qualification is often associated with career advancement into senior health and safety management, auditing, and strategic leadership roles.
